Brian Boru beer (Three Floyds Brewing Co)

Beer
with Tony the Yodeling Shetland Pony

I cannot say exactly from where and when Three Floyds Brewing Co arrived on the scene, creating toothsome beers, but one thing is for sure: they have undoubtedly arrived. If the label is any hint, I think they came from Munster, Indiana.

One of their many beers worth taking note of, is their red ale, named Brian Boru (Brian Boru appears to be some starry old Irish king that killed the Vikings.  I can only assume it played out something like the movie ‘Pathfinder’).

Tell them how it tastes Steve…Boru is a highly carbonated, dark, deep red-colored beer.  The back of label says it has a toffee aroma, and I have to agree.  It has a strong, full, slightly burnt taste, which is quite toothsome (editors note: this word is worth using twice).  Although the price is a little dear for a 1pt, 6fl ounce bottle (so 22oz if we are going on a pint being 16oz), that price being five & change at the hole-in-the-wall store downtown and six & change at the pricier Khan's liquor store, Brian Boru is a beer well worth trying.

Worth noting is that Three Floyd’s has failed to put the alcohol content of Brian Boru on the label but rest assured it packs a punch so be sure to consume in excess.
